ABOUT

As a native Arabic speaker learning Spanish, I have followed Vicente’s channel for a long time and found his content invaluable. However, during the early stages of my learning journey, I often faced difficulties understanding certain concepts. To help other Arabic-speaking learners overcome similar challenges, I reached out to Vicente and proposed subtitling one of his videos from Spanish into Arabic as a volunteer project. He graciously approved, and together, we completed the project, making his lessons more accessible to Arabic speakers.

Project

Subtitling Spanish vocab and expressions related to Sports.

Description

This project was completed within 48 hours and involved translating a video that explored general sports-related terms and vocabulary rather than focusing on a specific sport or practice. In addition to translating the core content, I worked on adapting several expressions from Spanish to Arabic to ensure they carried the same meaning and cultural relevance. My main objective was to make the translation clear, engaging, and easy to understand for all Arabic native speakers, regardless of their dialect.

Given the diversity of Arabic accents and vocabulary across the Middle East, I carefully chose words and phrases that were neutral and widely recognized. This approach aimed to ensure that the content would be accessible and relatable to a broad audience, helping Arabic speakers benefit fully from Vicente’s lessons and making the video impactful and inclusive.
